Houstin Energy Corridor
The Energy Corridor is a vibrant suburban area of Houston located along I-10 (aka Katy Freeway) between S. Fry Rd. and S. Kirkwood Rd. It’s surrounded by two of the biggest natural areas with over 50 miles of trails and parks.
The Energy Corridor is home to over 91,000 employees which is the 3rd largest employment center in the region with some of the most powerful companies such as AMEC Foster Wheeler, BP America, Citgo Petroleum Corp, ConocoPhillips, Shell Oil Company, etc.
With the lush green parks, convenient shopping all around, first class hotels, best schools & healthcare, and only minutes to downtown Houston it’s no wonder why so many people love living in this area. Population growth is expected to grow by 29% by 2025. Also there are several other cities in Houston that are within 12 miles. Some of these include Uptown Houston, Alief, Garden Oaks, Houston Heights, etc.
Transportation in the Houston Energy Corridor is awesome as it is serviced by METRO (Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Tx). The Line as it’s known transports people to and from the area and more connections are created all the time.
Growth in this area is expected to continue for a long time. As a matter of fact a study done in 2010 concluded that office space needs will grow by 36% and retail space will grow by 40% by the year 2025.
