Houston scores low on best and worst cities for homeownership report

If you want to own a home, it is not a great idea to buy a home in Houston. This notion is cited by the analysis of Bankrate. The financial group reported that the Houston-Woodlands- Sugar Land areas is in the 45 out of 50 MSAs for home ownership rankings. The city ranked low on its maintenance costs, rent hedging and property insurance rates. It did, however, rank the highest in affordability, foreclosures and energy costs. Bankrate cited that the best city to own a home in is located in Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro in Oregon and Washington. If the report is true, Houston home owners can get their money back after a year and five months in it before selling it.
